ai16z’s Eliza Labs ships white paper for Web3-native AI agents
Eliza Labs has released a white paper detailing the ai16z project, which focuses on Web3-native artificial intelligence agents. The 20-page document introduces Eliza, an AI agent toolkit designed to integrate Web3 applications with AI functionalities. Scheduled for launch in 2024, Eliza will enable AI agents to read and write blockchain data and interact with smart contracts. The goal is to create autonomous AI agents capable of data analysis and trade execution, addressing the needs of individual investors. Open-source AI operating systems like Eliza aim to democratize access to advanced AI tools. Industry experts predict that AI agents will significantly impact Web3 by 2025, particularly in cryptocurrency trading. As of December, around 10,000 AI agents were active in Web3, generating millions weekly, with projections of over 1 million by the end of 2025. In 2024, tokens associated with AI agents reached a market cap of over $10 billion. The ai16z token, AI16Z, achieved a market cap of nearly $1.4 billion since its October launch. Eliza powers over a dozen Web3 AI agents.
