ASX-Listed DigitalX Leans Into Bitcoin Treasury Strategy With Latest $8.8M Buy
DigitalX acquired 74.7 BTC for approximately US$8.8 million, increasing its total Bitcoin holdings to 499.8 BTC, valued at around $91.3 million. This includes 306.8 BTC held directly and 193 BTC via the DigitalX Bitcoin ETF. The purchase, made at an average price of $117,293 per Bitcoin, pushes DigitalX’s treasury beyond $100 million. The company previously acquired 57.5 BTC earlier this month and aims to consolidate Bitcoin as its core treasury asset. DigitalX raised $13.5 million to fund further Bitcoin purchases, allocating $12.8 million for this purpose. Non-executive chairman Leigh Travers emphasized a strategy focused solely on Bitcoin, stating no plans to invest in other cryptocurrencies. Other companies, including DDC Enterprise and Solar Bank, are also entering the Bitcoin market, despite criticisms regarding energy consumption.
