'Battle of the Three Kingdoms' Oasys Game Based on Sega IP Launching Next Week
KAI: Battle of the Three Kingdoms, a strategic card battler developed by Double Jump Tokyo under Sega's license, launches in early access on April 30, 2025, for PC and mobile. A three-hour load test will occur on April 28, with no data carryover to the full game. Over one million pre-registrations have been recorded since March. The game is a modern reimagining of Sega's Sangokushi Taisen series and will support English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese. Built on the Oasys blockchain, it features NFT cards called "Awakened Warlords," central to gameplay strategy. A SGC token will facilitate card pack purchases and leaderboard rewards. Sega is cautiously exploring blockchain gaming but is not licensing major franchises like Sonic for such projects.
