Binance Executives File Suit Against Nigeria: Local Media

Summary

Binance executives Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla have sued the Nigerian National Security Adviser and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission for alleged violation of their human rights. The executives, who were detained in Nigeria since February, have asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to order their release, return their passports, and issue a public apology. They were charged with four counts of tax evasion by Nigerian authorities earlier this month. Central bank governor Olayemi Cardoso accused the company of enabling the untraceable movement of billions of dollars worth of naira, contributing to instability in the currency's exchange rate. The case has been adjourned until April 8.
