Bitcoin Faces Prolonged Downtrend Through 2027, Analyst Warns
Bitcoin’s market cap has fallen to about $1.46 trillion, dropping it below several major tech companies and commodities, while gold remains the top global asset at nearly $31 trillion. The decline reflects weaker risk appetite, higher inflation, geopolitical तनाव, and softening investor sentiment. CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju says the bear market could last into early 2027, based on an on-chain profitability model suggesting prior downturns lasted about 18 months after profit-taking reversed. He says the downturn began in October 2025 and recovery won’t be confirmed until unrealized profits rise while realized profits fall. Bitcoin traded near $73,289, with derivatives open interest around $55 billion and about $224 million in liquidations, mostly from long positions. अमेरिकी PCE inflation rose to 3.8% in April, increasing pressure on risk assets.
