Bitcoin Long-Term Holder Net Position Turns Green For The First Time In 2025

Summary

Bitcoin long-term holders have resumed accumulation, marking a shift in investor sentiment despite recent market turbulence. The "BTC: Long-term holder net position change" metric from Glassnode has turned positive for the first time in 2025, indicating significant buying activity among long-term investors. Following a price drop from over $90,000 to around $80,000, long-term holders added more than 167,000 BTC, valued at nearly $14 billion, viewing the lower prices as a buying opportunity. This accumulation contrasts with panic-selling by short-term holders. Additionally, Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have seen renewed interest, with net inflows of approximately $274.6 million on March 17 and $209 million on March 18, marking the first sustained positive inflow since mid-February. Bitcoin is currently trading at $83,500.
