Bitcoin, SHIB Trade at 30% Haircut on WazirX as Exploiter Converts Stolen Loot to Ether

Summary

A North Korea-linked exploiter stole $230 million from Indian crypto exchange WazirX, converting most of it to ether. The hacker holds over 59,097 ETH and $15 million in alternative tokens. Tokens on WazirX traded at steep discounts, indicating poor liquidity and selling pressure. The exchange's own WRX token dropped 40% in 24 hours, while trading volumes rose to $8 million. WazirX blamed a security breach in a multisig wallet, causing distrust in the Indian crypto community. Crypto and fiat withdrawals from WazirX are temporarily paused.
