Bitcoin Treasury List Grows With Entry of Crypto Brokerage K33
K33, a Norway-based crypto brokerage, announced a financing agreement to purchase over 60 million Swedish krona ($6.2 million) in Bitcoin, marking its entry into Bitcoin treasury strategies. The firm plans to issue new shares and debt for this acquisition. CEO Torbjørn Bull Jenssen expressed confidence in Bitcoin's role in the global financial system and its potential to strengthen K33's balance sheet. The number of companies acquiring Bitcoin has surged recently, contributing to a rise in Bitcoin's price, which is currently around $108,000. Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, pioneered this approach in 2020 and now holds over 580,000 Bitcoin valued at more than $62 billion. Other firms, including Tether and SoftBank Group, are also pursuing similar strategies, with plans to launch a publicly traded Bitcoin treasury company called Twenty One, aiming to acquire 42,000 BTC through a SPAC merger.
