BlackRock Bitcoin ETF Now Holds Over 700,000 BTC.
BlackRock's spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF), iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), has surpassed 700,000 BTC, valued at approximately $75.5 billion, following a $164.6 million inflow. IBIT now holds 700,307 BTC, accounting for over 55% of total BTC in US spot Bitcoin ETFs and achieving an 82.67% total return since its January 2024 inception. BlackRock reportedly earns more revenue from IBIT than from its S&P 500 ETF. US Bitcoin ETFs and Michael Saylor's Strategy have collectively purchased $28.22 billion in Bitcoin in 2025, exceeding the $7.85 billion generated by miners. The SEC is considering simplifying the crypto ETF approval process, allowing issuers to list ETFs after 75 days if there are no objections. The REX-Osprey Solana and Staking ETF recently became the first US ETF to offer exposure to staked crypto.
