Carmaker DeLorean tokenizes EV reservations on Sui
DeLorean has launched an onchain reservation system and NFT marketplace for its Alpha 5 EV, marking its first vehicle release in over 40 years. The Build Slot NFT collection provides holders priority access to purchase the car. An exclusive marketplace allows NFT trading using USDC on the Sui network, with rewards for users. Vehicle history and performance data, including battery health and maintenance records, will be recorded onchain via the FLUX protocol, facilitating secondary market transactions. DeLorean also introduced the $DMC utility token, becoming the first carmaker to do so. The use of NFTs in luxury goods is growing, with brands like Louis Vuitton offering exclusive products linked to NFTs, while LVMH's AURA platform tracks luxury items' origins and histories through unique NFTs.
