Chainlink CCIP powers Lido’s new cross-chain staking on Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism
Lido has integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to facilitate cross-chain staking across Ethereum layer-2 networks, including Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism. This integration enables users to stake ETH and receive wrapped staked ETH (wstETH) directly, enhancing liquidity and cross-chain interoperability. Lido will utilize Chainlink’s Data Feeds for accurate wstETH redemption rates and Chainlink Automation for efficient cross-chain ETH transfers. The new Direct Staking feature simplifies the staking process into a single transaction, eliminating the need for third-party exchanges or manual bridging. This feature may expand to additional layer-2 and layer-1 networks, increasing accessibility to liquid staking tokens. Chainlink’s CCIP was selected for its security and reliability in decentralized networks.
