Circle Signals Plans to Bring USDC to Australia With Venture Capitalist Mark Carnegie
Circle plans to expand its USDC stablecoin into Australia and the Asia Pacific region through a partnership with MHC Digital Group, led by venture capitalist Mark Carnegie. The collaboration aims to enhance USDC distribution and explore institutional use cases in the region. Circle's Chief Business Officer highlighted the Asia Pacific's advanced digital asset adoption. The company recently relocated its headquarters to One World Trade Center in New York City and is preparing for an initial public offering valued at approximately $5 billion. USDC, the second-largest stablecoin with a market cap of $35 billion, has also been made available in Mexico and Brazil. MHC Digital Group will facilitate USDC access for wholesale clients in Australia, potentially aiding superannuation funds in reducing bank fees. Carnegie noted the efficiency of crypto for international payments and expressed confidence in Circle's future in the regulated stablecoin market.
