CleanSpark doubles down on Bitcoin mining with new Mississippi acquisitions
CleanSpark has acquired two new Bitcoin mining sites near Clinton, Mississippi, for $5.775 million, capable of supporting 16.5 megawatts. The sites will house S21 Pro miners, achieving a combined hash rate of approximately one exahash per second (EH/s) and are expected to be operational by December 1. This acquisition will increase CleanSpark's data center capacity in Mississippi to 60.5 MW and boost its overall operational capacity by 38% to 211.5 MW. The company aims for a capacity of 37 EH/s by the end of 2024 and 50 EH/s by 2025. CleanSpark also closed a 45 MW site in Wyoming on September 11, 2024, which will add another 3 EH/s. The firm remains focused on Bitcoin mining, contrasting with competitors diversifying into artificial intelligence.
