Coinbase-affiliated advocacy group endorses candidates for US midterms

Summary

Stand With Crypto, a Coinbase-backed advocacy group, endorsed 32 House candidates for the 2026 US midterms based on their digital asset policy positions. It said the picks were “proven digital asset policy champions” and were also aimed at competitive races where crypto voters could affect outcomes. The group argues crypto voters are now a durable bloc that could sway close congressional contests, especially as crypto policy becomes more important in Washington. The endorsements come amid heavy industry political spending: crypto-aligned groups and PACs spent more than $170 million in the 2024 cycle, and Stand With Crypto says more than 270 pro-crypto candidates entered Congress in 2025. Control of Congress could be decisive for crypto legislation, including the CLARITY market structure bill, which passed the House in 2025 but is still stalled in the Senate. The Senate is expected to revisit it when it returns in September, but limited session time before the election may complicate passage.
