Coinbase secures virtual asset service provider status in France
Summary
Coinbase has received approval from France's Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) to provide cryptocurrency services in the country. The registration, also known as Prestataire de Services sur Actifs Numériques (PSAN), allows Coinbase to offer retail and institutional services including crypto custody, crypto-to-crypto trading, and buying and selling crypto in cash. The company has also endorsed the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) rules, which apply to France. In recent months, Coinbase has expanded its presence in other regions, including Canada, Spain, and Ireland. The company's international arm, Coinbase International, launched spot trading services on December 14.
