Coinbase US Perpetuals Are Arriving Next Month as Stock Soars to New Heights
Coinbase Global Inc. will launch US Perpetual-Style Futures on July 21, becoming one of the first U.S. exchanges to offer regulated perpetual futures contracts. The new contracts include nano Bitcoin (0.01 BTC) and nano Ethereum (0.10 ETH) and are designed to track spot prices while offering leverage, compliant with CFTC regulations. This launch addresses a gap in the domestic derivatives market, allowing U.S. traders to avoid risks associated with offshore exchanges. Perpetual-style futures allow for long or short positions without a fixed expiration date. The contracts will have five-year expirations and hourly funding mechanisms for price alignment. Coinbase's share price surged to a record high of $375.07, reflecting increased public interest in crypto companies. An analyst raised Coinbase's price target to $421, citing European expansion and USDC integration.
