Crypto ETPs see $2.2B in inflows amid Trump inauguration euphoria
Cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs) experienced record year-to-date inflows of $2.2 billion, driven by optimism surrounding the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump. Bitcoin (BTC) rose 15% in the last trading week, increasing total assets under management in crypto ETPs to a historic high of $171 billion. Bitcoin ETPs accounted for $1.9 billion of the inflows, with year-to-date totals reaching $2.7 billion. Despite price increases, minor outflows of $0.5 million from short positions were noted. Ether (ETH) ETPs saw $246 million in inflows but remain the poorest performer this year with $28 million in outflows. XRP ETPs recorded $31 million in inflows, totaling $484 million since November 2024. BlackRock’s iShares ETFs gained $897 million, while Grayscale’s ETFs faced $145 million in outflows, totaling $268 million for the year. The US led inflows with $2 billion, followed by Switzerland and Canada with $89 million and $13 million, respectively.
