Crypto User Attacked In France Over Ledger Hardware Wallet
A 23-year-old man was kidnapped in Maisons-Alfort, a suburb of Paris, by criminals demanding 5,000 euros and access to a Ledger hardware wallet containing cryptocurrency. The victim was held for several hours and subjected to violence for information about his digital assets before being released in Créteil. No arrests have been reported. This incident is part of a growing trend of crimes targeting cryptocurrency holders, including cases of torture for access to digital wallets. Similar incidents have occurred globally, with reports of kidnappings in New York, India, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Spain.
