Dogecoin, XRP and Cardano Hit Lowest Prices Since 2024 as Altcoins Fall Harder Than Bitcoin
Major altcoins like XRP and Dogecoin (DOGE) have reached their lowest prices since 2024, as Bitcoin falls below $84,000 during a broader market downturn. DOGE dropped 8% in 24 hours to $0.115, down 84% from its 2021 peak, while XRP fell 7% to $1.78, down over 51% from its 2023 high. Other leading altcoins such as Cardano, Stellar, Litecoin, and Hedera have also declined 5% or more, hitting new lows for the year. This widespread slump is linked to ongoing uncertainty around the crypto market structure bill (CLARITY Act), which faces partisan disagreements in the Senate. Over $1 billion in crypto positions were liquidated in the past day, mostly involving long trades. Bitcoin and Ethereum also slid sharply, down 6.3% and 7.7% respectively, with recent prices around $83,811 for Bitcoin and $2,788 for Ethereum. The pullback follows a surge in precious metals and heightened volatility across financial markets.
