DTCC unit launches tokenization services

Summary

DTCC subsidiary DTC has launched its Tokenization Service, allowing eligible clients to convert securities held at DTC between traditional and tokenized forms. Tokenized securities can be transferred to digital wallets while retaining the same ownership rights and investor protections. Twenty clients have signed up, including Citi, Fidelity Investments, JPMorgan and Citadel Securities. DTC holds more than $114 trillion in assets. The service currently supports Canton Network and DTCC’s Besu private network, with more networks planned for 2027. DTCC has said it plans a pilot in July 2026 and full tokenized-securities trading in October 2026; the SEC issued a no-action letter regarding the program in December 2025.
