Ethena (ENA) lands Janus Henderson investment in token, USDe distribution
Ethena expanded its traditional finance links with a deal involving Janus Henderson, a $480 billion asset manager. Under the agreement, Ethena will allocate and help distribute Janus Henderson’s tokenized CLO funds, while Janus Henderson made a strategic investment in Ethena’s ENA governance token and plans to use USDe for treasury cash management. The firms are also exploring offering USDe to Janus Henderson clients through exchange-traded products. ENA rose after the news before giving back gains. The partnership reflects a broader trend of large financial firms backing DeFi infrastructure, following recent moves by BlackRock, Apollo, Coinbase Ventures, and Anchorage Digital. Ethena, one of DeFi’s largest protocols, currently manages about $5 billion in assets, down from roughly $15 billion at last year’s peak.
