Ethereum Foundation distributed $32.6M grants to ecosystem in Q1
The Ethereum Foundation distributed $32.6 million in grants in Q1 2025, with $32 million allocated through its Ecosystem Support Program (ESP). A total of 101 grants were awarded, with 32 focused on community and education initiatives, including support for educational content creators and events like ETHPrague. Sixteen grants improved developer experience and tooling, while 14 targeted cryptography and zero-knowledge proofs. Seven grants each were awarded for execution layer and consensus layer projects, with nine for protocol growth and support. An additional 13 grants covered decentralized finance, DApps, and stablecoin infrastructure. The Pectra upgrade went live on May 7, introducing three EIPs aimed at enhancing layer-2 scaling and user experience. Following the upgrade, Ether (ETH) prices rose from a slump to a high of $2,400 on May 9, currently trading at $2,345.
