Ethereum Foundation shuffles leadership, splits board and management

Summary

The Ethereum Foundation has restructured its leadership to delineate management and board responsibilities. The board will serve as a "security council" to protect the foundation's core values and set visions for Ethereum, while the management team will focus on executing these visions. Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz K. Stańczak were appointed as co-executive directors on March 2, with their roles effective April 28, emphasizing censorship resistance, open-source innovation, privacy, and security. Stańczak will balance his role with his work at Nethermind and a new venture capital firm. The management team includes Bastian Aue, focusing on organizational strategy, and Josh Stark, handling project execution and marketing. The board comprises Vitalik Buterin, Aya Miyaguchi, Patrick Storchenegger, and Wang. The foundation aims to scale Ethereum's layer 1, enhance layer 2 blobs, and improve user experience over the next year, with proposals already pitched to increase transaction throughput.
