Ethereum Jumps 10% As DeFi Sentiment Rebounds With Trump’s Victory
Ethereum (ETH) has surged nearly 20% in two days, driven by a rally in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector following Donald Trump's presidential victory. ETH has increased over 10% since yesterday, highlighting its innovative DeFi applications. Analysts from DeFiance Capital report a rebound in total value locked (TVL) in Ethereum-based DeFi protocols, with trading volumes nearing 2022 levels. DeFi is moving from the "trough of disillusionment" to the "slope of enlightenment," suggesting maturation. Macroeconomic factors, such as low interest rates, are expected to enhance DeFi adoption by making loans cheaper and increasing stablecoin supply. Trump's presidency may provide favorable crypto regulations, boosting investor confidence and potentially raising ETH to $3,400. Increased whale activity indicates seasoned investors are accumulating ETH. Currently, ETH trades at $2,806, with a market cap of $338.6 billion, while competing platform Solana's DeFi ecosystem reached a TVL of $5.7 billion in Q3 2024.
