Grayscale Is Making Its Red-Hot Zcash ETF More Affordable
Grayscale is splitting shares of its Zcash ETF, ZCSH, in a 3-for-1 forward split to make the fund more accessible to retail investors. Shareholders of record at the Sept. 28 close will receive two additional shares for each share held, with the split effective before market open on Sept. 30. The split will lower the price per share by about two-thirds, but will not change the total value of holdings. The move comes after Zcash surged more than 2,800% over the past year, pushing the ETF’s share price higher as demand grew. ZCSH has attracted over $233 million since launching on Aug. 25, with net assets around $890 million as of Sept. 17. It is the first spot ETF to hold Zcash directly and was converted from Grayscale’s Zcash Trust. Zcash’s privacy features and capped supply have helped drive interest, and Grayscale has used similar splits before, including for its Ethereum Trust.
