Japanese logistics company eyes JPYC stablecoin to pay drivers
Summary
AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings, a major Japanese logistics company, plans to use the yen-denominated JPYC stablecoin to pay about 2,300 business partners, likely becoming Japan’s first large-scale corporate adopter of JPYC. The stablecoin would be used for fees and compensation to individual contractors, including truck drivers, enabling faster, more frequent payments without transfer fees. The company is also considering a partnership with JPYC and an investment of more than 1 billion yen ($6.2 million). AZ-COM Maruwa is a mid-sized logistics firm with Amazon Japan among its major customers. JPYC’s CEO said the company aims to further integrate logistics and payment flows with JPYC.
