Last Year’s Viral Meme Coins Are Back From the Dead as Solana and Ethereum Gain
Tokens from the previous viral meme coin cycle are experiencing significant value increases this week, coinciding with Bitcoin surpassing $100,000, Ethereum achieving double-digit gains, and Solana reaching a two-month high. Solana-based tokens Moo Deng (MOODENG) and Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT) surged 143% and 55%, respectively, with trading volumes exceeding $900 million. Despite these gains, both tokens remain approximately 80% below their all-time highs. Other Solana meme coins also saw substantial increases, with Fwog (FWOG) and Unicorn Fart Dust (UFD) rising 37% and 45%. The overall meme coin category increased by over 23.7%. Additional tokens like Chill Guy (CHILLGUY) and NEIRO also gained traction. This resurgence follows a period of skepticism regarding the viability of Solana meme coins, but market activity has stabilized as major cryptocurrencies have rallied.
