LatAm Bank Littio Ditches Ethereum for Avalanche as Demand for RWA Vaults Grows
Latin Americans are gaining easier access to U.S. Treasury bills through Colombian neobank Littio, which is transitioning from Ethereum to Avalanche blockchain for its Yield Pots product. This change is driven by increased demand and Avalanche's low transaction fees. Littio partners with OpenTrade to offer yield-bearing products using stablecoins and real-world assets. Littio operates in multiple Latin American countries and has achieved over $80 million in transaction volume since launching Yield Pots in February, generating $250,000 in returns for users. The yield from Littio's vaults ranges from 2% to 5%. The Colombian peso has significantly depreciated, making U.S. dollar exposure attractive. Littio aims to serve underbanked populations facing currency restrictions and limited access to traditional banking services.
