London Stock Exchange Will Start Market for Bitcoin and Ether ETNs May 28

Summary

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) plans to launch a market for Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded notes (ETNs) on May 28. The LSE will start accepting applications for trading these crypto ETNs from April 8, pending approval from the UK regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The FCA stated in March that it would not reject requests from Recognized Investment Exchanges to create a listed market segment for ETNs. These products will only be available to professional investors. This move aligns with the UK's efforts to become more crypto-friendly and establish itself as a crypto hub.
