Morning Minute: MetaMask Hands AI Agents a Wallet
MetaMask launched Agent Wallet, a self-custodial wallet that lets AI agents execute crypto activity within user-set limits. Agents can perform swaps, perpetuals trading, prediction-market bets, and staking on Ethereum-compatible chains and Hyperliquid. Users choose between a cautious “Guard Mode” and a more permissive “Beast Mode.” All transactions are simulated, threat-scanned, and protected against MEV, and eligible trades include up to $10,000 per month in loss coverage. The wallet integrates with AI developer tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenClaw, and can pay gas in the asset being used so agents do not need native chain tokens. No token is attached. MetaMask is late relative to Coinbase and MoonPay, but its scale could make agentic trading mainstream if trust and usability improve.
