OKX’s Global Compliance Chief Left After Six Months

Summary

Patrick Donegan, the global chief compliance officer and head of anti-money laundering efforts at OKX, has left his role at the cryptocurrency exchange after six months. Donegan managed a team of 300 people globally and specialized in creating policies and procedures to meet regulatory expectations. His departure comes as crypto exchanges face increasing pressure to comply with anti-money laundering laws. Recently, KuCoin and two of its founders were charged with violating these laws by U.S. federal prosecutors. Prior to OKX, Donegan served as chief compliance officer and senior vice president at Signature Bank for nearly eight years. Neither OKX nor Donegan have commented on his departure.
