Oman Launches Mandatory National Bitcoin Mining Pool In State-Backed Push
Oman has launched Omanhash.om, a state-supervised national Bitcoin mining pool for licensed miners. The project, run under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology with Frontier Technologies LLC and Enegix Global, is described as the mandatory pool for approved mining companies operating in the country. The goal is to bring roughly 10 EH/s of Omani mining capacity into a formal, centralized framework in the initial phase, with Enegix saying its total pool capacity could rise to about 25 EH/s and later 30 EH/s. The move matters because it gives the government greater visibility into energy use, revenue flows, and regulatory compliance while still allowing private miners to participate. It also reflects a broader trend in energy-rich countries treating Bitcoin mining as part of national infrastructure and energy strategy.
