Qivalis wins Dutch EMI license, but MiCA rules block launch
Summary
Qivalis, a consortium-backed company supported by 37 European banks in 15 countries, received an electronic money institution license from the Dutch central bank. The license meets one condition for issuing its planned euro-denominated token, but Qivalis has not begun issuing tokens or offering payment services. It plans to launch within the coming months, subject to applicable MiCA requirements and publication of a white paper; no fixed date has been set. Distribution is expected through eligible banks, exchanges and payment providers. The license is not a white-paper approval, and partner participation or customer access is not yet confirmed.
