Ripple quietly made Brazil the center of its XRPL tokenization push
Ripple is expanding across Brazil’s financial sector through payment partnerships, RLUSD support, custody services and tokenized securities. CSD BR’s first-phase project will mirror BTG Pactual fund-share ownership records on the XRP Ledger, while CSD BR remains the official registry; issuance and trading may follow after validation. Ripple executive Markus Infanger said about $2.7 billion of the $6.7 billion in tokenized financial assets he counted on XRPL was in Brazil. Chainalysis ranked Brazil first in its 2026 grassroots adoption index, despite a 1.6% contraction in the country’s crypto economy over the measured period. Brazil’s rules will restrict virtual assets from settling aggregated eFX flows but still permit individual international transfers. Ripple’s announcements indicate growing institutional connections, though comparable figures for Brazilian payment volumes, RLUSD circulation and active usage are not available.
