Robinhood (HOOD) adds AI agents, perps and weekend trading in push to win active traders
Summary
Robinhood unveiled a suite of products aimed at active traders, including AI agents that can research and execute trades, crypto perpetual futures with up to 10x leverage, weekend trading for selected U.S. stocks and ETFs, longer options hours, and earnings-based contracts. AI agents will initially require approval for each trade by default and use separate accounts without margin borrowing; users can disable approval. Perpetual futures will launch for eligible U.S. customers through Robinhood Derivatives and Bitstamp, with lower leverage for more volatile assets. The moves extend crypto-style features—continuous access, leverage and automation—into a broader retail brokerage platform amid intensifying competition.
