Saylor’s Strategy Adds $1.9 Billion Worth Of Bitcoin To Growing Portfolio
Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, announced a Bitcoin purchase of $1.9 billion on March 31, 2025, despite Bitcoin's 25% decline from its January all-time high. This acquisition is the largest for Strategy in 2025, increasing its total Bitcoin holdings to approximately $43.4 billion, which is about 2.5% of the total Bitcoin supply. Strategy acquired 22,048 Bitcoin at an average price of $86,969 each between March 24 and March 30. In Q1 2025, the company spent around $7.79 billion on Bitcoin, funded by proceeds from common and preferred share sales. Bitcoin is currently trying to consolidate above $80,000 after dropping to $76,000. Market indicators suggest potential recovery, with Binance's trading volume surpassing competitors, historically linked to bullish sentiment for Bitcoin. Binance's volume was 19 times greater than Coinbase's at the start of 2024, now reduced to eight times, indicating its significant market influence.
