SharpLink Nabs BlackRock Exec Who Helped Launch Bitcoin, Ethereum ETFs
Joseph Chalom has joined SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO after 20 years at BlackRock, where he led digital asset strategy and launched Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. Chalom believes Ethereum will become the foundation of global finance. Current CEO Rob Phythian will transition to president. SharpLink Chairman Joseph Lubin praised Chalom's impact on institutional adoption of digital assets, viewing his joining as validation of SharpLink's ETH treasury strategy. SharpLink holds over 360,000 ETH valued at more than $1.3 billion and recently acquired nearly 80,000 ETH. The firm plans to raise up to $6 billion through a stock sale to fund further ETH purchases. SharpLink aims to connect institutional capital with Ethereum-native yield. Shares of SharpLink Gaming have fallen over 6% to $21.89, marking a 31% decline over the past five days.
