Solana-Based Pump.Fun Records $15 Million Daily Revenue As Memecoin Mania Continues
Pump.fun, a Solana-based launchpad, achieved a record-breaking daily revenue of $15 million on January 1, 2025, amid a surge in memecoin popularity. The platform has deployed 5.39 million tokens and generated over 2.02 million SOL, valued at $418.7 million. In December 2024, Pump.fun maintained daily revenues between $2 million and $3 million despite being banned in the UK. It accounted for 52.8% of all Solana DEX transactions in December. Criticism arose due to harmful content broadcasted via its Livestream feature, leading to a temporary shutdown. On-chain data indicated significant transfers to Kraken, prompting community backlash. Despite controversies, the memecoin market remains strong, with the "Solana Meme" category increasing by 12.5% to a market cap of $20.9 billion. New tokens like ai16z and Fartcoin have also seen substantial daily surges, entering the top 10 memecoins rapidly.
