Solana Foundation Hires Former Binance CMO For Institutional Push
Solana is expanding its push beyond consumer crypto into institutional finance and payments. The Foundation has hired Rachel Conlan, formerly Binance’s global CMO, to oversee institutional partnerships, ecosystem growth, and go-to-market strategy. It also brought in Raees to focus on payments, including stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and settlement infrastructure. The move reflects Solana’s growing activity in financial use cases: the network says it has handled more than $5 trillion in stablecoin volume in 2026, with over $4.5 billion in real-world assets and more than $620 million in tokenized equity supply. Solana is positioning itself as financial infrastructure, competing with Ethereum, Layer 2s, and payment-focused chains. Its core advantage is high throughput and low fees, but the Foundation is betting that institutional adoption will require partnerships, compliance, and product-facing leadership, not just technical performance.
