Strategy buys 1,550 Bitcoin after controversial 32 BTC sale
Strategy bought 1,550 Bitcoin for about $101.3 million last week, lifting its total holdings to 845,256 BTC. The purchase was made at an average price of $65,332 per coin and funded by $181 million in net proceeds from at-the-market sales of Class A shares in early June. Strategy’s total Bitcoin cost basis is about $63.97 billion, at an average of $75,680 per BTC. At a current Bitcoin price near $63,600, the stash is worth roughly $53.8 billion. Shares rose 6.55% in pre-market trading after the filing. The buy resumes accumulation after a small 32 BTC sale last week, which drew criticism and fueled speculation about forced selling risk. Analysts at Bernstein remained bullish on the stock, citing a resilient balance sheet and continued accumulation through a sharp Bitcoin drawdown.
