Strategy Latest Bitcoin Purchase: 705 BTC Bought For $75 Million
Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, acquired an additional 705 BTC between May 26 and June 1, increasing total holdings to 580,955 BTC. The purchase cost $75.1 million, averaging $106,495 per Bitcoin, bringing total investments to approximately $40.68 billion at an average of $70,023 per token. Following the announcement, Strategy's stock rose 0.9% to $372.72. This acquisition marks the eighth consecutive week of Bitcoin purchases amid macroeconomic uncertainties, despite Bitcoin's recent price retracement from an all-time high of $111,800. Blockchain analysis platform Arkham Intelligence estimates Strategy's holdings may be nearly 625,000 BTC, valued at about $59.92 billion, with 97% of Saylor's holdings tracked. Arkham noted that 87.5% of reported holdings are in Bitcoin, with a portion held in Fidelity Digital's custody. Over 327,000 BTC are held in segregated custody within the Strategy entity.
