Sui DEX Cetus suspected of being hacked: Up to $200 million lost
Cetus, a decentralized exchange on the Sui blockchain, has reportedly been exploited, resulting in the potential loss of over $200 million in digital assets. Users reported significant value drops in various tokens, with some losing nearly all their worth. The alleged exploiter's address holds approximately $52 million in Sui tokens and other substantial amounts in different assets. The Cetus team paused the smart contract for safety following the incident. However, blockchain analysts question the project's transparency, suggesting the situation may not simply be a bug as claimed by the Cetus team. Suspicious fund transfers indicate that $212 million was bridged to Ethereum at a rapid rate, raising further concerns about the incident's nature.
