Sui Network back online after ‘crash bug’ causes 6 hour outage
Summary
Sui Network resumed operations after a nearly six-hour mainnet outage caused by a crash bug in its gas charging logic, introduced in the 1.72 release. The network said a full incident review will follow. Validators were still showing degraded performance after recovery. This was Sui’s second outage in 2026, after a similar six-hour downtime in January, and follows another validator crash-loop incident in November 2024. The outage briefly hit SUI’s price, which fell about 6.6% to around $0.90 before partially rebounding. Sui is a major layer-1 network with about $542 million in total value locked.
