Tether launches on Kaia, brings USD₮ to LINE’s 196M user ecosystem
Tether has launched its stablecoin, USD₮ (USDT), on the Kaia blockchain, collaborating with Line Next, the Web3 division of Japan's Line messaging platform. This integration allows USD₮ to be used within Line's Mini DApp ecosystem and self-custodial wallet, facilitating in-app payments, cross-border transfers, and decentralized finance (DeFi) activities for over 200 million users. Initial features include USDT rewards and peer-to-peer transfers via Line's wallet, with plans for expanded functionality. The Kaia blockchain supports low-latency transactions, enhancing the user experience. Tether's USDT remains the largest stablecoin by market capitalization, with over 149.4 billion tokens in circulation. Tether also minted an additional $1 billion USDT on the Tron network recently and announced a partnership with Chainalysis for compliance integration.
