Travala lets AI agents book hotels with USDC on Base
Travala launched Travel MCP, a protocol that lets AI agents search, reserve, and initiate hotel bookings using USDC on Base through Claude Desktop and other integrations. It connects Travala’s hotel inventory to AI apps via the Model Context Protocol and uses Coinbase’s x402 for gasless, near-instant stablecoin payments with low fees. Final payment still requires the traveler’s manual approval, so it is not fully autonomous. Travala says the system uses ERC-7715 session keys to let agents manage searches, bookings, and cancellations while keeping signing authority in the user’s wallet. The launch covers more than 2.2 million hotels, including Marriott, Hilton, and IHG listings, and Travala plans to extend it to flights and other travel products. The move reflects broader crypto efforts to support machine-to-machine stablecoin payments for AI agents.
