Trump crypto company's USD1 stablecoins backing UFC event bonuses
World Liberty Financial, the Trump family crypto company, confirmed that UFC will pay up to $250,000 in fighter bonuses using USD1, its dollar-pegged stablecoin, at the White House lawn event tied to the nation’s semiquincentennial. USD1 briefly rose above $1 and saw trading volume surge, though it had spent much of the previous month below parity. The “UFC Freedom 250” event drew criticism over its reported $60 million cost and included sponsorship from World Liberty, Polymarket, and Crypto.com, which planned separate CRO-token bonuses. The announcement renewed conflict-of-interest concerns around Trump’s financial stake in World Liberty and his role in signing the GENIUS Act on stablecoins. The White House denied any conflict, saying Trump’s assets are in a trust managed by his children. World Liberty also faces legal disputes, including a lawsuit and countersuit involving Tron founder Justin Sun.
