TRUMP Memecoin Explodes Past $8 Amid Token Unlock Pressure
The TRUMP meme coin experienced a bullish surge, increasing over 8% in value on April 19, despite the unlocking of 40 million tokens worth approximately $310 million on April 18. This unlock event released just 4% of the total supply but over 16% of the circulating supply. The token's price had previously fallen about 90% from its all-time high of $71 in January. Before the unlock, TRUMP was valued around $7.54, with expectations of downward pressure due to increased supply. Contrary to predictions, the price rose to $8.60 during the day before settling at approximately $8.33, marking an 8.6% increase in 24 hours but still down 1.5% over the week. The TRUMP coin was launched in January 2025, shortly before Donald Trump's inauguration, and faces further unlock events in the future.
