Uniswap Foundation Shares Balance Sheet as Fee Vote Nears
The Uniswap Foundation recently disclosed its financials, revealing $41.41 million in fiat and stablecoins and 730,000 UNI tokens held at the end of Q1. The fiat and stablecoins are allocated for grant commitments and operational activities, while the UNI tokens are reserved for employee awards. A vote is scheduled for UNI token holders to decide on a new fee mechanism that would shift some rewards from the decentralized exchange's liquidity providers to its token holders. The Uniswap Foundation is also preparing to contest a Wells notice issued by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which signals potential enforcement action against the foundation. The SEC alleges that Uniswap's UNI and LP tokens are investment contracts violating securities laws, a claim disputed by Uniswap Labs.
