US prosecutors have highlighted Nishad Singh's "substantial assistance" in the investigation of FTX, emphasizing his genuine remorse and desire to aid the inquiry. Singh's cooperation was crucial in revealing how FTX misused customer funds and detailed Sam Bankman-Fried's involvement in transactions with stolen money. He disclosed previously unknown illegal activities, including significant campaign finance violations and falsified financial statements by Bankman-Fried. Following his guilty plea, Singh met with the government over 20 times and reviewed extensive documentation to assist the investigation. Prosecutors have requested a reduced sentence for Singh under Section 5K1.1 of the US Sentencing Guidelines due to his cooperation, which could result in a lighter sentence compared to other FTX leaders. Singh's attorneys have requested a "time served" sentence, citing his limited role in FTX's collapse. Sentencing is scheduled for October 30.
