Vitalik Buterin announces leadership changes for Ethereum Foundation
Vitalik Buterin announced significant leadership changes at the Ethereum Foundation to enhance technical expertise and communication with developers. Following the Dencun upgrade in March 2024, transaction fees for Ethereum's layer-2 networks dropped by up to 99%, leading to a surge in layer-2 networks, which raised concerns about revenue cannibalization on the base layer. Ethereum's base layer revenues fell by 99% in summer 2024 but recovered by year-end.
